Mistress Joker cosplay ideas.

Hey Guys. (:

I'm writing again today because I was just running through 2 cosplay ideas for Eirtakon 2013 in Dublin

I've always been a huge 'Batman' fan and have a complete adoration/obsession about The Joker and Harley Quinn
I have already cosplayed Harley, because I absolutely love her character, she is just so fun and bubbly and she always manages to make everyone smile.. Apart from the Joker himself which is hilariously ironic.

(Myself and my best friend as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy at Eirtakon 2012)

I'm in dire need of a mallet prop, but I just haven't had time to make the mallet as of yet. I'm absolutely in love with some of the mallet's I have seen made entirely by the cosplayers themselves and I would love to someday be able to start making props too. I just need the time and money and as of late it's been difficult to make time for anything.. -_-
 But someday!

(Myself and a friend that I met at Qcon 2013 cosplaying the Joker  this summer in Belfast.)

SO!

Because I love the two crazy lovebirds (mostly on Harley's part) so much, I thought "Heck! Why not cosplay as the Joker too.
Now my favourite version of the Joker is probably Ledger's adaptation mainly because I loved how corrupt and sadistic the Joker really was. I do love my quirky, silly Joker but something about Ledger's performance hit me right in the feels. He was dark and so realistic that it actually made me feel scared.
I remember hearing his laugh for the first time and actually getting goosebumps.
and also Heath Ledger, as an actor means a lot to me, he always did.

I was trying to think of how I would adapt this character into a female version because I knew I wouldn't do the male version any justice and I checked online from deviantart to Cosplay.com and saw a few amazing female adaptations, but I felt that I wouldn't be able to make the costume my own without somehow copying some of the other girl's versions, and I felt that would be unfair and cheating almost.
So I eventually chose to do the original version from the Animated TV series of 1992 with a little bit of Jack Nicholson's version. I loved the look of the Joker in both the animated series and in Tim Burton's movie and felt I could accomplish something and make the character my own, and I think that's important as a cosplayer, to be able to make something your own and place your own unique stamp on it is worth the blood, sweat and tears of putting it all together.

I'm really excited about this cosplay, because the Joker means so much to me.
I'm really hoping I can do it justice.
I have 3 months to do my best and decide exactly where I want to go with my ideas but until then I shall toy around and see how it all goes.

I have bought the jacket and the corset, however and both are beautiful. I couldn't be more happy with them. I have some pictures to show you:

My Joker Blazer.                                                                                                                                                 My Joker Corset.

I'm still deciding if I want to go with a skirt or shorts for the costume.. But I'm still unsure. But I think I'm going to draw my ideas out and see what works best for my ideas.I'll update my progress on this one. (:
I hope you like it!
